Monterey, Calif.; February 20, 2018; The Monterey Jazz Festival, a leader in jazz presentation and education since 1958, is offering a variety of Partners and Sponsors for its wide portfolio of education programs, stages, events, tours, artists and other opportunities spanning the calendar year.
From naming and presenting Sponsorships of the 61st Monterey Jazz Festival, other opportunities include the Next Generation Jazz Festival, the Jazz Legends Gala, the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, and its national and international tours in 2019. VIP/Corporate packages are also available for the Jazz Legends Gala.
The Festival’s audience is diverse, educated and mature, with over 38,500 attending the 60th Festival in 2017.
Yamaha Drums and Piano Divisions have been partnering with the Monterey Jazz Festival for over 40 years. “Both of our organizations are dedicated to inspiring jazz music students in schools across the United States and we are very proud to support the Monterey Jazz Festival and all of its outreach programs,” said David Jewell, Marketing Communications Manager of Yamaha Corporation of America.
“We are invested in helping our partners accomplish their business goals while creating social value,” said Colleen Bailey, Monterey Jazz Festival Executive Director.
The Festival can also leverage a creatively-tailored partnership. An example is with the partnering of 2017’s Artist-in-Residence Gerald Clayton with MJF Partner, the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Clayton acted as the Aquarium’s 2018 Conservation Artist to bring awareness about the reduction of single-use plastics to preserve the world’s oceans. “It’s been a huge honor,” said Clayton. “I’m thrilled to be involved.” Lorraine Yglesias, the Aquarium’s Director of Advertising and Promotions said, “I consider this a successful result of our jazz festival sponsorship.”
Since 1958, the Monterey Jazz Festival has presented the world’s greatest figures in jazz for 60 years—including Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck, and Sarah Vaughan to contemporary masters Tony Bennett, Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and many others. The 61st Monterey Jazz Festival takes place at the Monterey County Fairgrounds and Event Center September 21-23, 2018, and the Next Generation Jazz Festival takes place at the Monterey Conference Center March 9-11, 2018.
