Monterey Jazz Festival and Hyatt Regency Return for “Wine, Dine and Jazz” to Benefit Jazz Education, May 14

Monterey, Calif.; April 20, 2015; Monterey Jazz Festival and the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa announce the third installment of “Wine, Dine and Jazz” events to benefit the Festival’s jazz education programs.

The third “Wine, Dine and Jazz” will take place on Thursday, May 14 from 6-9 p.m. at the TusCA Ristorante at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa, located at 1 Old Golf Course Road in Monterey, hosted by chef Steve Johnson.

Wine Dine and Jazz features a four-course meal paired with Twisted Roots Wines, with special jazz-inspired desserts created by Leigh Zimmerman and Domenick Allen of Monterey Meringues. Dinner is served during a live jazz performance by Hyatt jazz director/drummer David Morwood, and members of the Monterey Jazz Festival’s County All-Star Band and Honor Vocal Ensembles directed by Paul Contos. The Monterey County All-Stars are hand-selected jazz students from Monterey County schools.

The cost is $85 per person inclusive. Tickets can be bought online at www.winedinejazzmonterey.com.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the Festival’s local jazz education programs that affect over 1500 students from 26 Monterey County middle and high schools—including the Traveling Clinicians, Summer Jazz Camp, Instrument Bank and Sheet Music Library, and County All-Star Band programs.

“For over 50 years, the Hyatt Monterey has enjoyed our partnership with the Festival, the artists, and a most loyal fan base. ‘Wine, Dine and Jazz’ is a natural progression of this half-century relationship,” said Steve McNally, general manager of Hyatt Regency Monterey.

“The Monterey Jazz Festival is best known for its annual festival in September, but this is an opportunity to see what the organization is up to the rest of the year,” said Colleen Bailey, managing director of Monterey Jazz Festival.
