Monterey Jazz Festival Offers Grass Turf from the Arena to the Public for Free

UPDATE: The Grass Removal has Been Extended to End of Day, Thursday, September 21

Monterey, Calif.; September 14, 2017; The Monterey Jazz Festival is once again offering the grass turf used at the 60th Monterey Jazz Festival in the Arena to the general public for free.

All grass must be removed by the end of the day on Thursday, September 21, when 25,000 square feet of grass turf will become available from 8am-4:30pm.

On September 21, patrons or companies should enter the Monterey County Fairgrounds at Gate 6 and proceed to the area behind the Arena for removal. The general public can remove as much of the sod as they want, but must bring their own removal tools, transportation and people to load the turf.

Availability of sod is first-come, first-serve.
